Initial and annual reporting is an obligation under the Arms Trade Treaty, as mandated by Art. 13. This event will provide an opportunity to revisit the status of reporting, its relationships to transparency as well as discussing how reporting burdens on states can be lessened by realizing synergies in meeting reporting requirements across a range of arms controls instruments. The Small Arms Survey’s recently released report “The Value of Reporting: National Reporting Practices under the UN Sanctions Regime on North Korea” will provide a case study on reporting dynamics under this regime and connections to the ATT.
